Efgan Rende – Türkiye
Born in Berlin (1976), Efgan Rende completed his early education in Antakya and earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Uludağ University, Faculty of Education, Department of Music. He began studying guitar with Murat Cemil and later continued his master’s studies under Bekir Küçükay at the İstanbul University State Conservatory.
He has attended masterclasses with M. Safa Yeprem, Erdem Sökmen, Andrew York, Lorenzo Micheli, Aniello Desiderio, and Gilbert Biberian, and began teaching guitar at Avni Akyol Fine Arts High School in 2008.
In 2012, he founded the Bağlama–Guitar Duo, blending Turkish traditional and Western classical music — a project later named “Project of the Year” (2015) by Bilkent University. The duo has since performed at numerous festivals nationally and internationally.
From 2016 to 2024, Rende taught masterclasses at Türkiye Gitar Buluşmaları and currently serves as Assistant Professor of Guitar at Ankara Music and Fine Arts University.
His recordings include “Gül Türküsü” (2020), “Hüzün” (2021), and, together with Ayşegül Aykaç, the singles “Tek Kapıdan Çıktım,” “Çayeli’nden Öteye,” “İstanbul’dan,” “Kimseye Etmem Şikayet,” and “Aldatıldık” – all released under Ahenk Müzik.
