Meet the artist – Gjulian Bytyqi

Gjulian Bytyqi – Kosovo

Born in Prizren (1985) into a family of musicians, Gjulian Bytyqi grew up surrounded by music and began his guitar studies at the “Lorenc Antoni” Music School under Luan Sapunxhiu. He later earned his Bachelor (2010) and Master (2015) degrees in guitar at the Faculty of Arts under Professor Shevdet Sahatxhiu.

Gjulian has performed extensively across Kosovo and abroad, including with the Kosovo Philharmonic, and has been featured in international festivals such as the Peja International Guitar Festival, Tremolo Guitar Festival (Skopje), and Vera e Ulqinit (Ulcinj), among others.

Together with his brother Elvis Bytyqi, he formed Kosovo’s first professional guitar duo, releasing their debut classical album “Dedicación” in 2018 and a new single in 2024. He has attended masterclasses with renowned guitarists including Aniello Desiderio, Pepe Romero, Marcin Dylla, and Zoran Dukić, and has served as a jury member in several international competitions.

As an educator, Gjulian has taught at music schools in Gjilan, Prizren, and Gjakova, and collaborates with the University “Haxhi Zeka” in Peja. His students have achieved notable success, earning international awards and continuing their studies in leading European conservatories.

At Mitrovica Guitar Days 2025, Gjulian Bytyqi will share his expertise through a masterclass and serve as part of the jury, continuing his commitment to musical excellence and education.
