Mitrovica GuItar Days started in 2018 as a small initiative in the cultivation of guitar music. In the beginning, it was a branch of the well-known festival ESMA (European Summer Music Academy), which took place in Pristina, Gjakovë and Pejë. The KosovaArs team had the goal that the guitar as a branch of the festival would come to Mitrovica and thus began the great work in this direction.

With the exception of 2020 due to the pandemic that gripped the whole world, ESMA - the guitar branch has been organized in Mitrovica every year.

For technical reasons, in 2022 the festival has changed its name and is now called Mitrovica Guitar Days.

This festival includes masterclasses, workshops and concerts.

Every year, this festival has brought to our country great names of the guitar music of the country and the world. Worth mentioning: Aniello Desiderio, Hubert Kaeppel, Sanel Redžić, Danijel Cerović, Arben Begaj, Giannis Paleodimopoulos, Darko Bageski, Drilon Çoçaj, Florin Fanaj, Erhan Mujka and many others.
